BJFEZ organizes the 2nd Working Group Meeting on Complex Logistics·Shipping

BJFEZ successfully held the 2nd BJFEZ Working Group Meeting of the year on Complex Logistics·Shipping, one of the core strategic business sectors of BJFEZ. 
 
The purpose of this meeting was to 
a) activate the ecosystem of Complex Logistics·Shipping industries by associating with BJFEZ’s future logistics infrastructure ―a new international airport, the Gadeok International Airport, and a new large scale port, Jinhae New Port― 
b) seek the BJFEZ Authority’s role and adequate policy measures in developing the logistics industry. 
 
The meeting was participated by seven experts in the logistics industry.

These professionals suggested various measures for developing and fostering an innovation ecosystem in this business sector. In particular,  developing new growth industries through the digital formation of the current logistics industry was mentioned. For example, establishing a global e-commerce fulfillment center associated with the Gadeok International Airport and a new business platform model such as a digital-based Korean style showroom were proposed. 
 
Furthermore, the experts stressed the need to mitigate the regulations to enable the co-existence of manufacturing and logistics companies in the same port hinterland, which will lead to the development of high value-added logistics. 
 
BJFEZ Authority selected four business sectors as core strategic industries last year including ‘Complex Logistics・Shipping,’ after going through an examination by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. In addition, BJFEZ has been inviting experts for special lectures for the staff to broaden their knowledge of each sector.

BJFEZ Authority will try hard to innovate regulations so that it becomes possible to create the high value-added logistics beyond simple storage and freight shipping.”
