BUSAN/CHANGWON, KOREA – The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Seong Ho Park, “BJFEZ Authority”) celebrated its 22nd anniversary on March 27, 2026, declaring a new leap toward becoming a global center for business and logistics.
The ceremony, attended by representatives from resident companies and partner organizations, highlighted the "10 Major Achievements and Future Strategies". Commissioner Seong Ho Park personally presented key milestones, including the expansion of the economic zone and the normalization of the Woong-dong District 1 development project.
Since its establishment in March 2004, BJFEZ has attracted $5.17 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI), centering on high-tech industries and port logistics at the Busan New Port. With the projected completion of Jinhae New Port by 2040 and Gadeokdo New Airport by 2035, BJFEZ is set to be the heart of a massive Tri-Port network encompassing sea, air, and rail.
“The achievements of the past 20 years are the result of the sweat and efforts of our 2,442 resident companies and all stakeholders,” said Commissioner Seong Ho Park. “BJFEZ will continue to evolve into a global economic center beyond Busan, Gyeongnam, and Korea”.
