From Nov. 1-3, Commissioner Chang, Mr. Young Jae Lim (Director of Tourism and Leisure Investment Department) and Miss Jodi Kiely (Investment Promotion Officer) attended meetings in New York with potential investors in the tourism and leisure development industry.

Meeting with Developers

One November 1, the group met with 2 potential investors interested in developing residential and amusement park facilities within Korea through the introduction of Mr. K.

Mrs. T. is a concept developer who has visited Korea on several occasions with Dr. L. She is very interested in participating in the development of tourist and leisure sites in Korea. She showed the BJFEZ delegation her layout drawings as well as a self-prepared video dedicated to her project.

Also present at the meeting was Dr. B. He has never been to Korea but he supports Mrs. T’s development goals.

The BJFEZ Authority gave its presentation on 3 development projects which could be of interest to Mrs. T. At the conclusion, she reacted positively and said she would like to visit the BJFEZ sometime in the near future.

Meeting with G. Company

On November 2, the BJFEZ delegation had a meeting with consultants from G. Company.

The BJFEZ presented their latest presentation to attract developers from the tourism and leisure industry and then discussed how they could incorporate G. Company into their future projects. Among many things, it was mentioned that there is an increasing interest in China these days and the key for the BJFEZ would be to sell itself competitively.

The meeting proved beneficial in that the BJFEZ learned how it can implement G. Company into its future projects.

Meeting with Tourism and Leisure Development Company

On November 3, the BJFEZ delegation met with Mr. M. of H Company via Mr. K.

The BJFEZ Authority presented to Mr. M. its investment attraction presentation for leisure and hospitality developers. Mr. M. said he had visited the Busan region many times before and shared his ideas for developing within the BJFEZ.

Mr. M. said he has many clients who are interested in getting into Asia, especially China and Korea.

Mr. M. said there is great potential for his clients within the BJFEZ area.
