In November 2, 2012, FAU (Friedrich-Alexander University) Busan at BJFEZ held the entrance exam briefing session for 2013 and “Open Campus” event in front of about 70 invited guests, students and family members.
FAU Busan with a faculty of 32 members established and opened in March 2011 is the BJFEZ’s first foreign educational institution and also first German university campus in Asia. The FAU Busan campus offers 6 postgraduate courses in field of life and sciences, taught in English, offering the same high-quality Master’s degrees as graduate’s course from the Eerlangen-Nuremberg Campus and students earns the same degrees from FAU.


BJFEZ held the Speech Contest Award Ceremony on November 6, 2012 at “Vision Hall 2020” with 50 attendees consist of awardees, parents, and educators. The 6th annual English Speech Contest was during October 30 ~ November 1, 2012 for the students from elementary level through university level in the Busan and Gyeongnam area. A total of 28 students were selected as award winners; One Grand Prize, One Gold Prize, Two Silver Prizes, and Three Bronze Prizes for each level. A total of 9.2million won were given as award prize money and Maecheon Scholarship Foundation run by Taekwang Co. Ltd., selected 13 students separately to give scholarship funds of 10million won in total. And One Grand prize was awarded to each levels; Busan Gumjeong elementary (Soo-Min Park), Busan International Middle School (Soo-Jung Lee), Changwon High School (Dong-Gun Lee), and Inje University (Ah-Ryeon Kim).
BJFEZ Authority will continue to host the speech contest every year to contribute to the improvement of local students’ English capabilities.


On Monday November 26, 2012 BJFEZ Authority (Commissioner Ha) invited the potential investors, including foreign enterprises wishing to invest in the Myeongji International City and announced the acceptance of LOI and MOU to be start.
In this event LOI was submitted by Roscoe Partners, a joint venture among Daewoo Engineering & Construction, Mirae Asset Securities and so on, leading the way and a number of foreign investment successes has been shown before. In addition, Becker Marine Systems (World best in research and production on high-performance ship rudder and propulsion) company from Germany, and Germany’s world best vessel institute HSVA to submit the LOI for establishing the international level of the ship models R&D center.
Thanks to the successful co-housing sales in the Myeongji Area and recent LOI and MOU, the achievement of the BJFEZ performance activities is shown well and will increase global companies inquires to investment opportunities here at Myeongji International city.


Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone (commissioner: Myeng-Keun Ha) invited 23 people from the Chinese diplomat, journalist, and entrepreneurs for the investment promotion session. In this promotion session BJFEZ made presentations on BJFEZ’s core projects like Myeongji and Ungdong projects and had a site tour to the actually locations. Following that, group also visited the Busan New Port. Through this session BJFEZ hopes to promote its excellent investment environment and opportunities to the Chinese society who are currently living or staying at Korea. FEZ plan to further expand the investment promotion activities toward Chinese investors from now on.


MOU signed with International Department of Economic from Shenzhen, China.
On Wednesday November 21, 2012; Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Ha) and International Department of Economic from Shenzhen, China signed Economic Cooperation MOU at Shenzhen Hae-Kyung Hotel, China.


BJFEZ also hosted two visitations; one from China Qingdao International Port Authority officials and CFO Sun-Min Lee on Friday November 9, 2012, second visitation was from Busan University of Foreign Studies officials and President Hae-Lin Chung on Wednesday November 7, 2012.
