  • Held investment briefings for over 60 prospective European investors and conducted one-on-one consultations with key stakeholders

The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Park Sung-ho, hereinafter referred to as "the BJFEZ Authority") carried out global investment promotion activities from May 19 to 23 at the “K-FEZ Day in Europe,” highlighting the BJFEZ’s strategic location and its future growth potential in advanced industries. The Authority also held individual consultations with major local investors.

Organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the event featured the participation of five Korean free economic zones, including the BJFEZ. Attended by more than 60 prospective European investors, the program consisted of investment briefings on “Real Estate Investment and High-Tech Industries,” followed by tailored one-on-one consultations.

On May 20 in London, the BJFEZ Authority participated in the “Korea-UK Real Estate Investment Attraction Seminar,” where it delivered presentations to approximately 30 financial and real estate investment firms, including the Association of Real Estate Funds and Pure Data Centres Group. The presentations covered ▲the BJFEZ’s vision and competitive advantages, ▲development plans for the South Container Hinterland Complex at Busan New Port and the Jinhae New Port, and ▲the residential and R&D center development in the Myeongji District. One-on-one consultations with key investors were also held.

On May 22, the Authority took part in the “Korea-Germany Advanced Industry Roundtable” in Frankfurt, meeting with tenant companies and target companies such as Schenker (logistics), AMDT (factory automation solutions), Prettl (automotive components), and Wilo Pump (mechanical components). The BJFEZ Authority introduced ▲its vision and strengths, along with investment opportunities in ▲the Mieum and ▲Nammun Foreign Investment Zones, which garnered significant interest from participating companies.

In addition to its participation in the joint promotional events, the BJFEZ Authority also conducted targeted investment promotion activities independently. On May 21, the Authority held consultations with a leading UK-based marine industry company that expressed interest in investing in Busan New Port and Jinhae New Port. On May 23, it plans to conduct networking sessions with relevant organizations in Frankfurt to further identify and engage prospective investors. Through these targeted efforts, the BJFEZ Authority actively promoted the tri-port logistics competitiveness and future scalability of the BJFEZ, emphasizing new business opportunities for European firms.

Commissioner Park stated, “This joint promotional initiative in Europe provided a valuable opportunity to maximize foreign investment outcomes in the BJFEZ’s key industrial sectors.” He added, “By strengthening strategic partnerships with the UK, Germany, and other European countries, we aim to elevate the BJFEZ into Northeast Asia’s premier global business hub.”
