– Commissioner Park Sung-ho Engages Global Leaders at ‘GHMS 2025’ to Discuss Investment Cooperation
The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Park Sung-ho, hereinafter referred to as "the BJFEZ Authority") announced on May 16 that it had been officially invited to the “2nd Global High-End Manufacturing Summit 2025 (GHMS 2025),” held in Changsha, Hunan Province, China, where it engaged in activities to identify potential investors.
GHMS is the largest high-end manufacturing forum in Asia, co-hosted by the Asia Pacific CEO Association (APCEO) and the city of Changsha. The event took place over three days, from May 14 to 16, and brought together approximately 700 leaders in the high-end manufacturing industry, including representatives from Fortune Global 500 companies, senior government officials, and global unicorn companies from more than 60 countries.
As the only officially invited government agency from Korea, the BJFEZ Authority opened new opportunities for investment cooperation through direct exchanges with global manufacturing leaders. Commissioner Park Sung-ho participated in a panel discussion during the High-End Manufacturing Global Matchmaking meetings, where he highlighted the BJFEZ's strategic advantages as a logistics hub in Northeast Asia and emphasized the importance of establishing a new chapter of advanced manufacturing collaboration between Korea and China.
During the event, the BJFEZ Authority promoted its “BJFEZ Logistics Infrastructure and High-Tech Industry Investment Attraction Project.” The Authority’s industry-specific investment strategies focused on:
▲The Nammun, Mieum, and Jisa Foreign Investment Zones
▲The Western Container Hinterland Complex and the Ungdong Hinterland Complex
▲The Bobae Mixed-Use District
These strategies garnered considerable interest from the participating companies.
One-on-one customized investment consultations organized by the BJFEZ Authority attracted Chinese companies specializing in advanced materials, transportation equipment, and AI-based smart manufacturing. These firms made detailed inquiries regarding the BJFEZ’s investment incentives and locational advantages, signaling strong interest in actual investment opportunities.
After the summit, Commissioner Park visited the KOTRA trade office in Changsha and met with Deputy Director Yang Jin-young to share insights on local investment trends and information on promising Chinese companies. He also engaged in practical discussions to strengthen follow-up cooperation, significantly enhancing the prospects for concrete investment partnerships with Chinese firms.
Commissioner Park stated, “GHMS 2025 served as a strategic platform for the BJFEZ to communicate directly with global manufacturing leaders.” He added, “As the global supply chain undergoes restructuring, we will stay ahead by closely monitoring developments on the ground and responding with agility.”
