BJFEZ Authority Holds Networking Event to Foster Collaboration with Busan-German Corporate Council, 

Strengthening Ties with Busan City and Busan Regional Customs

 

- Explores collaborative measures for German tenant companies in BJFEZ in response to rapidly changing economic landscapes and downturns.

- Effective programs to support import and export will enhance the competitiveness of Busan-based companies.

The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Kim Ki-young, hereafter referred to as ‘the BJFEZ Authority’) announced the organization of a networking event to invite the Busan-German Corporate Council (hereafter referred to as ‘the BGCC’). The event took place on July 19 at 11 am in the main conference room on the 5^th floor of the BJFEZ Authority building.

Approximately ten participants, including Kim Ki-young (Commissioner of BJFEZ Authority), Myung Sung Kim (Chair of BGCC and President of STAUFF Korea), Council members, officials from Busan City Investment Attraction Division, and representatives from Busan Regional Customs, attended the event.

The BGCC was officially established in December 2015, revolving around 12 German investment companies in Busan. Currently, the Council, with 16 companies, serves as a core intermediary, attracting investments from global German companies.

The event provided an opportunity for participants to communicate closely and explore measures in response to changing economic circumstances through keynote speeches on economic forecasts and solutions. The BRC introduced import and export support programs, and council members shared their challenges.

Myung Sung Kim, Chair of BGCC, stated, “The business environment has undergone significant transformations due to the global economic recession, the expansion of ESG (environment, society, and governance) management programs, and the reformation of supply markets. Moreover, the German Supply Chain Act, effective from this year, has compelled suppliers to comply with the law. Active support from the BJFEZ Authority will be warmly welcomed in this trend.”

Kim Ki-young, Commissioner of BJFEZ Authority, declared, “BJFEZ Authority will spare no efforts to attract global talents to BJFEZ through bold deregulations and the establishment of infrastructure, positioning the zone as the best place to conduct businesses.”

The BJFEZ Authority will continue to engage with foreign companies residing in the zone, strengthening networks and attracting competitive global companies.
