BJFEZ Presents Investment Attraction Project at ‘Belt and Road Summit 2023’ in Hong Kong to Showcase Excellent Infrastructure and Investment Opportunities

 

◈ BJFEZ Authority gives a presentation in a project investment session at the 8^th ‘B&R Summit 2023’ held in Hong Kong.

◈ The large-scale summit was attended by 200,000 participants, including government officials from 80 nations and representatives of international organizations worldwide.

The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Kim Ki-yeong, hereafter referred to as ‘the BJFEZ Authority’) announced on September 15 that the Authority was selected as a presenter in the project investment session of the 8th ‘Belt and Road Summit 2023’ held in Hong Kong from August 13 to 14.

The presentation aimed at promoting the quality logistics infrastructure in the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone.

The 'Belt and Road Summit' is co-hosted annually by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council with the objectives of ▲ inviting global business leaders, ▲ sharing investment trends, and ▲ exploring business cooperation opportunities. 

The summit was conducted both online and offline, with approximately 200,000 participants, including government and local regional officers from 80 countries, as well as representatives of international organizations.

The BJFEZ Authority presented on the topic of 'BJFEZ Logistics Infrastructure and Investment Attraction Project,' addressing ▲ complex logistics (West Distripark and Ungdong Distripark), ▲ advanced industries (foreign investment area), and ▲ R&D projects (Bobae, Myeongji) as a selected speaker. Numerous local officials expressed interest in the competitiveness of the logistics tri-port in the BJFEZ and its potential for future growth.

The one-to-one investment consultations and meetings with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, and trade officials in Hong Kong enhanced close cooperative networks. The BJFEZ Authority also promoted its investment attraction projects, assessed investment trends among foreign companies based in Hong Kong, and identified potential companies expressing investment interest.

The speaker of the session from BJFEZ Authority stated, 'There is a growing interest among local Hong Kong investors in the Korean investment environment, particularly after the investment briefing held by Korea’s Financial Services Commission on September 8. Given the increased investments from Chinese and Hong Kong investors in the BJFEZ, we are committed to leveraging our capacity to guide local interest toward investment.
